Economic Bundle

We offer systematic, proactive services for families with infants!

We routinely offer this service to families with infants in the pediatric clinic at Boston Medical Center as a part of their well-child visits during the first year of life.

In the summer of 2021, StreetCred ran a systematic test pilot program with 56 infants to iteratively improve and assess a bundle of key economic resources. Most families were interested in enrolling in the resources, and the program was officially launched in fall 2022.

Our Economic Bundle includes:

  • WIC
  • SNAP
  • BMC's Preventative Food Pantry
  • 529 College Savings Account (529 CSA)
  • Paid Family and Medical Leave (PFML)
  • Family Self-Sufficiency Program (FSS)

Our timeline:

  1. Introduce bundle at newborn visit.
  2. Financial Navigators work with families during well-child check-ups — and between visits — to access this bundle.
  3. Follow families for the first couple years of life to understand health and health care impacts.
